Fighting the Good Fight

“Already a terrifying spiritual and moral tide of evil has loosed our society from its spiritual moorings. Ideas that could easily destroy our freedoms are rushing into the vacuum that results when societies turn from the moral truths found in Scripture.”

Billy Graham

We are living in a messed up world. Truly there is nothing new under the sun, but things are pretty bad. There’s slaughter of Christians in other countries not being reported or prosecuted. Gender dysphoria and gender identity disorders, which were once considered psychological issues, are being normalized and even popularized rather than being treated with psychotherapy and education. The murder of babies is being celebrated, and parental rights are being both subtly and blatantly ripped away on a variety of issues. These are just a few of the travesties we are facing right now.

Maybe we are just starting to wake up from our slumber and fight against the injustices and agendas we have been told are normal, right, and acceptable. Or maybe it’s that things have gotten to such a high level of corruption and disgrace that we cannot remain silent anymore in the face of it. Whatever the case, the status quo is no longer acceptable in terms of allowing and excusing these abominations. Even if we can’t win, we are choosing not to go down without a fight.

This is America. As citizens, we have not only the right, but the duty to stand up for what is right and fight against what it shamefully wrong. If you are able to get involved on any level to make your voice heard in these times of terrible perversion, do it. Silence from those who oppose is a perceived win to those who are perpetrating the betrayal of our founding principles.

However, in the midst of your speaking out and fighting back, be sure that your heart and motives are in the right place. Be careful to follow the leading of the Lord and get involved in a biblical way.

Consider who you are speaking to if in a debate, and ask the Lord to lead you in conversation. Ask the Lord if the person you are about to speak with (or engage in a Facebook debate with – I don’t recommend this) is open to hearing truth. If they are not, don’t cast your pearls to swine. There are those who are not willing to hear truth, and will fight against it with their whole being. Walk away.

Finally, don’t let these horrible things happening right now take your focus away from God. He is still in control. He sees it all and knows it all. Fix your eyes on Jesus, and pray without ceasing. He will lead you in the way you should go, and will guide you into all truth. Fear not the terrors of the night. Don’t be afraid of even the end of this world, because one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess He is Lord. The innocent will be repaid and the wicked will receive swift justice. So, fight but don’t let it consume you or cause you to become sinfully angry.

Prayer: Father, help this fallen world. Bring justice on those who oppose you knowing the truth and exchanging it for a lie. Save those who are innocent and give them freedom and hope in the face of trial and tribulation. Open the eyes of the blind, let deaf ears hear, and stony hearts become flesh. Help us who know to do good and are able to know what we need to do. Give us opportunity to fight and forgive us for our silence in times past. Give us a careful heart to know when to speak and when to hold back, who to speak to and who to turn away from. Whatever happens, Lord, we trust You to be our refuge and strength, and our great Redeemer. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, Amen.

  1. God has given us free will, you either believe in him or you don’t. If you make the wrong choices in life you must expect the consequences of your actions !!!
