Shaken, Not Stirred

See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven; whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

Hebrews 12:25-27, KJV

Are you allowing yourself to be shaken by God? Does He have authority in Your life to shake loose those things that aren’t good fruit? Is there anything that He could try to shake loose from you but you’d stubbornly hold on to it? Let it go. Let Him shake loose those things that are holding you back from right standing with Him. Those things that are able to be shaken aren’t important, you won’t be able to take them with you into eternity, and you will regret holding onto them.

God is going to shake this earth in such a way that everything that is against Him, against His Word, against His plan will fall, will bow, will be destroyed. How much of ourselves belongs in that pile of rubbish and opposition? Humble yourself now, strip off every weight that so easily ensnares you, and give Him full reign as Lord of your life. This isn’t easy, by the way, it’s a daily sacrifice of self, of desires, of dreams even, and of sin. The lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life are tough things to shake off ourselves, but if we don’t, He will. I’d rather do it myself by the leading of His Holy Spirit. It is possible, but it will take personal laying down of ourselves for His commands, His will, and His righteousness.

I feel a rumbling – God has arisen from His throne. He is coming with power and glory, and for His own.

“Then the Earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.”

Psalm 18:7, KJV

Revival is coming. It’s in tarry-mode right now, and I think that’s good for us. He’s giving us time to get right and to get ready. He’s working some things out, allowing some things to happen, and soon He will shake the earth and the souls living here to the point where they will bow before Him. Those of us who know and love Him and live for Him will be ready for the harvest that is to come. And soon. It’s coming soon. Because He is coming soon.

Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire.

Hebrews 12:28-29, KJV

Although we are in trying times, we are shaken, but should not be stirred from our firm stance in Jesus Christ, our redeemer. Let us be strong and courageous, bold and confident in the immovable God we serve and His immovable kingdom. Let us serve Him with reverence and fear, working out our own salvation with FEAR AND TREMBLING – that’s a SHAKING FEAR.

Taylor Swift should have nothing on us – she doesn’t know what it means to “shake it off,” in a Biblical sense (by the way, pray for Taylor Swift – she needs Jesus, too). Let’s bring a new meaning to that statement. For our God is a consuming fire.

Be ready.
